About the Instructor
Lakshmi Narayan, Founder, Creative Director
I have nine years of professional training in design and communications, and 30+ years experience in various print and digital media, including branding and corporate identity systems, WordPress web development, collateral design, magazine design, direct mail, ads, packaging, and scriptwriting. I am passionate about the transformation of consciousness and culture. For the first part of my career I worked in and for major corporations in healthcare, finance, and lifestyle, including EHS Hospitals in Illinois, Arthur Andersen, Schwinn, Encyclopedia Brittanica, and NOAA. In 2010 I shifted my focus to alternative health and counterculture clients as my own spiritual growth and interest in holistic health expanded. I worked with MAPS, the leader in the psychedelic medicine movement, and helped brand their PS2013 conference. I also worked with WVC (Women’s Visionary Congress), Crossroads Ibogaine, and with dozens of solopreneurs and small businesses in California and elsewhere to help them build a foundational brand and web presence, print collateral and videos. HOW IT WORKS
My commitment with the Website in a Week Workshop is to teach you how to design, format, launch, and manage your own website and help you unleash your creativity in building a personal brand, event, or blog website. We will provide each student with a hosted website and take care of all technical details so that on DAY 1 of class your site is ready for design, which we will do together in the workshop. The student is responsible for providing content — text, images, or videos, or you can use our placeholder class materials for a mockup. The website will be created from activation to launch in seven recorded class sessions.
The Website in a Week Workshop is the perfect foundation for you to understand the mechanics of building a web presence, whether you plan to build it yourself or hire a professional. The website itself is built on the premium Divi theme, (a $90 value) that is functional, easy to design, seo-friendly, mobile-responsive, editable, and scalable. We also included a suite of stable performance plugins and security features.

You get ongoing support from an experienced team. DIY HANDHOLDING: If you get stuck or get overwhelmed by technical or design issues, expert help is just a phone call away. You can also book an additional tutorial, or hire us to design all or any part of your website — from brand strategy to launch — be it a home page video, slideshow, content, events page, blog setup, booking button, store, or any other feature or functionality you want. Once your website is launched we can help you create a growth marketing strategy with FB/Instagram ad campaigns, blogs and email newsletters, and sales funnels for your product or service.
